THE IRRADIATED MAN-MONSTER

In the fifth episode of "Is The Dow Rising?" it seemed that Vice President Dick Cheney fought with a creature called The Irradiated Man-Monster:

Unbeknownst to more or less everyone (actually, no one even noticed, but I wanted to use the word "unbeknownst" in a sentence), the idea for The Irradiated Man-Monster was of course based on The Incredible Hulk. In order to get the feel of that character, and pay homage to comics artists of the past, I resorted to a technique used when I first started trying to draw comic book characters: taking an image and attempting to faithfully reproduce the drawing in my own hand (not tracing it, mind you, which is the easy way out).

So for instance in panel 4 of that episode I used a classic Gil Kane cover of Tales To Astonish (#87) posted at

http://www.samcci.comics.org/astonish/tta087.htm

and replaced the burly-looking weird guy fighting the Hulk with Dick Cheney, then flipped the image and reduced it in size in order to use it in the panel. Click on any image and open in new tab or window to view full size.

Needless to say, but I'm not giving up to the public domain my larger-version drawings "After (Jack) Kirby" used in the first panel of Episode 5

and "After (Jim) Steranko" used in the second.
